Mountain Walking and Navigation includes all areas of adventure; guided local routes to Mountain routes and introductory navigation to advanced navigation skills can all be arranged.

Introduction to Navigation

Using the local Sussex area you will use map and compass to navigate the paths and roads. This course will introduce you to using maps and become confident in going off by yourself to enjoy the countryside. If you spend a lot of time walking but would like to be more aware of current location and how to summon help then this course is for you too.
£50 per person

Intermediate Navigation

This 2 day course is for those people that are able to navigate but want to improve on their micro-navigation. This course is based around the navigation skills you require for the Mountain Leader award. Section of the course will cover compass bearings, pacing, timing to name a few. Further afield locations can be used upon request, however this may incur extra cost.
£95 per person

Mountain Walking Weekends

Come and enjoy a weekend away walking through the mountains. Various trips happen throughout the year, looking to improve fitness, navigation and generally enjoy the mountain environment. Not all trips will aim for 'the biggest' peak around- routes can be adapted for the groups needs
£200 per person (prices may very depending on location)

NNAS Awards

As a national standard the National Navigation Award Scheme is a competency level that you can be assessed to to prove you level of skill. Organisations, such as, the Scout movement and Lowland Search and Rescue have used this to ensure that their people are at a certain level of skill.
We are able to run the Bronze and Silver award.
£70 per person (16 hour Course)

Lowland Expedition Leader Award- Training

The course focuses on leadership skills for you to run expeditions in lowland areas and overnight stays. This course is ideal for Duke of Edinburgh leaders for Bronze/ Silver as the areas used suit the operating area of the LELA person.

Lowland Expedition Leader Award- Assessment

After you have completed the training course, your portfolio and the consolidtion period then you can attend the assessment weekend. Come along to the weekend where you will undertake a two night, two day assessment process
